| Emerging technologies |
|
Emerging technologies are products and systems new to the market. They are designed to change our lives and the way we work. Today’s dynamic lifestyles and business environments demand faster and error-free transactions through efficient information management. Emerging technologies enable seamless convergence, connectivity and information sharing across different platforms by means of:
|
| RFID |
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) refers to a system that transmits the identity (in the form of a unique serial number) of an object using radio waves as opposed to bar code systems, which require a person to manually scan a label to capture the data. RFID is designed to enable RFID enabled readers to capture data from a RFID Tag and transmit it to a computer system—without needing a person to be involved. RFID Tags are small objects that can be attached to or embedded into an object. Each device maintains a Unique ID in memory which can be read through an RFID reader. Some RFID Tags also contain re-writeable memory which can be used to store some dynamic (changing) information like balance, transaction information, etc. These Tags can be read from a distance of several meters using Wireless network and RFID Readers.
Application of RFID tags in warehouses and Retail Outlets can significantly reduce IN / OUT transaction time as there is no need to scan each item manually. Movement of High value asset items can be tracked online thus resulting in better utilisation of asset. This application can greatly help Hospitals, Specialised Workshops, Hotels locate tools, equipment and even people instantly and precisely. Finally you can get the entire inventory status at a click of mouse thus getting alerted on missing inventory immediately rather than waiting for year end inventory verification process.
Emitac has invested in this up coming technology to create prototype and be ready with integration of RFID technology with commonly used inventory management systems and development of Real Time Location Systems

| WiMAX |
Based on the IEEE 802.16 wireless broadband standard, WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) technology enables wireless data transmission across greater distances. WiMAX solution let you extend local Wi-Fi networks or connect to a long distance Internet service provider ISP/enterprise network. Mobile WiMAX, an extension of IEEE 802.16, facilitates high-speed data transmission using mobile voice over IP (VoIP), as an alternative to the traditional GSM, TDMA, or CDMA networks.

| 10GE |
10 GE or 10 Gigabit Ethernet is an Ethernet standard that transmits at 10 Gbps. 10 GE can be used to optimise conventional networks such as local area networks (LANs), metropolitan area networks (MANs), and wide area networks (WANs), with faster operations and network performance.

| Making the best of your BI initiative |
Emitac is a GOLD partner (one of the highest level of partnership) with Business Objects (an SAP company). We have extensive experience including Financial Services, Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Retail and select areas of Public Sector.
Business Objects offers a full spectrum of BI products, including BI platform, query and analysis, reporting, planning, enterprise performance management, dashboards, scorecards, enterprise information management, data integration and data quality

We have proven implementation roadmap based on “maturity model”. The essence of the model is about implementing a successful Business Intelligence solution as opposed to most of the contemporary BI implementations working as glorified reporting solutions. Foundation of the “3 level” maturity model starts with an ingeniously formulated CMP – Common Minimum Program approach.
