ITP NEWS Online; IACAD updates web presence with Emitac

Dubai's Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has announced a new project to update its online presence. The organization, which is responsible for a range of activities relating to Islam including supervision of mosques in the Emirate, is to replace its existing website, and deploy a new intranet.
Emirates Technology Company (Emitac) and its partner Avanza Solutions will manage the project, which will move the IACAD from an Oracle-based solution to Microsoft's SharePoint 2007.
IACAD plans to introduce new online services to its external website, and to also a roll out an intranet to ehance collaboration, manage content and automate some processes.
Balall Yaqub, CEO of Emitac said: "We are extremely honoured to be chosen for this project by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities and are proud to be a part of their initiative, that will provide timely and effective information to the region in particular and the world in general."
